A pair of Cowboy movies

John Wayne leads a bunch of kids on a cattle run and runs into trouble in the form of Bruce Dern. All the adult hands left the area to look for gold and the cattleman needs to get his stock to market.

Westerns aren't my cup of tea and so you might feel differently about this film. I didn't understand the motivation for the kids and I didn't understand why Wayne's character didn't inspire the kind of loyalty he would need for such a long harrowing trip.

Look for a young Robert Carradine and A Martinez playing a couple of the kids. Myrtle point and Bandon have the DVD and VHS copies are in Lakeside and North Bend.

The Cowboys (Deluxe Edition)

David Hasselhoff goes Canadian in this silly modern day run down cowboy flick. A native American and former rodeo champ get confused with a pair who rob a bingo hall. The drunken detective, Michael Moriarty, chases after them.

Everything about this film makes it bad and stupid and the only reason it's not a dog is I laughed some. The outtakes show how they did the terrible stunts, and have some scene markers that say "Don't call me Tonto," which made us wonder if that was the working title.

Bandon has the only copy of the DVD.
