Movie Review: I, Robot

In the near future, Will Smith, finds himself frustrated with the over mechanized world around him. He distrusts the personal robots everyone owns. When his friend, robotics scientist Dr. Alfred Lanning, dies under mysterious circumstances, Smith suspects the technology.

During the investigation, we learn that one of the robots saved Smith after an accident. It left a little girl to die and our hero has a bad case of survivor's guilt. A demolition robot tries to kill him at Lanning's house. He convinces himself that technology is out to destroy humanity.

I wouldn't call this a deep thinkers film. Lots of crashy blow up scenes done in CGI. However, enough of a plot came through to hold my interest. I like all the little moral dilemmas. Who to rescue, who to leave to die, who's alive and who's an inanimate calculator.

Definitely a popcorn munching edge of your seat adventure. Look in Coos Bay or Myrtle Point for this good DVD.
