Movie Review Little Miss Sunshine

The misleading title implies families might find entertainment in this film. Don't be fooled, it's a grown up movie for adults. The morbid humor and dysfunctional lives will strike the funny bone for us more seasoned viewers, but I doubt anyone under 30 will laugh. It stars Abigail Breslin, Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin, Toni Collette and Steve Carell as a messed up family. They pack up their van and head out on an adventure to a child beauty pageant. Grandpa, Arkin, helps Olive, Breslin, prepare her talent routine unseen till the end of the film. Disturbing. The trip brings the family together. Expect weird, and you wont be disappointed.

It's not for everyone, but I laughed a lot. Look for it in Myrtle Point, Bandon, Coos Bay and North Bend.
